Field Hockey Falls in 2015 Landmark Conference Opener to Goucher

TOWSON, Md. --- The Moravian College field hockey team lost its first Landmark Conference match-up of the 2015 season with Goucher College Saturday afternoon by a final score 4-1.

In the first half the Hounds gave up three goals to the Gophers. The Greyhounds were able to get two penalty corners in the first 35 minutes of play, but were not able to put any shots on the cage.

In the second half, the Greyhounds played hard and were able to find the back of the net. Junior forward Erin Tiwold scored with just seconds remaining in the game. Tiwold broke away from the defense and then was able to bury the ball into the cage, scoring her eighth goal of the season.

Junior goaltender Megan Kanyuk made ten saves in the game bringing her season total to 60 saves.

Next up for the Hounds is a non-conference match at Cabrini College on Wednesday, September 30 at 4:00 p.m.
