Kanyuk First to Record 200 Saves in a Season as Hounds Fall at Wilkes

EDWARDSVILLE, Pa. --- Junior keeper Megan Kanyuk became the first goalie in Moravian College field hockey history to reach 200 saves in a single season but it wasn't enough as the Greyhounds dropped their final non-conference match of the 2015 season in a 3-1 setback at Wilkes University Thursday evening.

Kanyuk stopped 15 shots in the match to give her 204 saves on the season, breaking Amanda Gaun's record of 199 set in 2003. Kanyuk now has 296 career saves and is four stops shy of becoming the fourth player in school history to reach 300 career saves.

Junior forward Christina Duddy was able to find the cage for the Greyhounds with just 11 seconds left in the contest on a penalty corner as she tapped a pass from junior forward Erin Tiwold. It was Duddy's third goal of the season.

The Hounds had a number of scoring opportunities in the first half with five shots on goal including three from junior forward Kyla Rodrigues but Moravian was down 1-0 on the scoreboard after 35 minutes of action.

The Blue and Grey will finish out their 2015 season on Saturday, October 31 in a Landmark Conference match at Drew University starting at 1:00 p.m. in Madison, New Jersey.
