Kanyuk Stops 17 Shots in Landmark Conference Action at Juniata

HUNTINGDON, Pa. --- The Moravian College field hockey team fell to Juniata College, 5-0, in Landmark Conference action Tuesday evening.

The Hounds had an opportunity to take an early lead in the match when junior forward Erin Tiwold took a shot off of a penalty corner inserted by junior forward Kyla Rodrigues but Tiwold's shot was blocked on its way to the cage. The Eagles took a 1-0 lead later in the opening half and scored four times in the second half.

Junior goalie Megan Kanyuk stopped 17 shots in the match, her seventh straight contest with double-digit saves. Kanyuk has stopped 175 shots this fall, the third-most in a single season in Moravian history, and she moved into fourth in the record books with 267 saves in her career.

The Greyhounds are slated to return to action on Sunday, October 25 when the squad hosts The University of Scranton in a Landmark Conference match beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Rocco Calvo Field.
