Gabby Stelzmiller selected as Landmark Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior forward Gabby Stelzmiller has been selected as the Landmark Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.

Stelzmiller helped the Greyhounds to a 2-0 record last week by scoring two goals and two assists. After being held without a shot in a 1-0 win at Albright College, Stelzmiller opened the 2018 Landmark Conference season with two goals and two assists in a 6-1 win at Juniata College. With the Hounds leading 1-0, Stelzmiller figured in four straight goals with an assist, two goals including one on a penalty kick, and then another assist as the lead expanded to 5-0. Stelzmiller, who only took three shots during the week, now has 15 goals and 15 assists in her career.

"It's exciting to see Gabby finishing and creating opportunities for us," stated Head Coach Jeff Ykoruk. "She does everything for us as a forward. People tend to only look at that goals she scores which is a big part of her role, but not her only responsibility. She possesses the ball so well for us, creates chances and pressures opposing backs at a really high rate. She continues to work hard at training and she is an exciting player to watch."

The Hounds are scheduled to return to the pitch on Wednesday, September 26 when the squad hosts Stevenson (Md.) University in a non-conference contest beginning at 7:00 p.m. on John Makuvek Field.
