ASTON, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's soccer team scored a pair of second half goals to rally from a halftime deficit and post a 2-1 non-conference victory at Neumann University Saturday afternoon as the Greyhounds earned their first win of 2022.
How It Happened
- The Knights netted the opening goal of the match as Neumann got onto the scoreboard in the 34th minute of action
- The Greyhounds evened the match in the 50th minute as senior midfielder Dave Steinbach found the net on an unassisted goal. Senior defender Dan Apryasz had fired a shot that was saved, and the rebound bounced to Steinbach's foot
- Moravian moved ahead in the 75th minute when sophomore forward Ben Scary connected on a penalty kick for a 2-1 Hounds' edge
Inside the Numbers
- Steinbach converted his sixth career goal and first in 2022
- Scary's goal was his third of the season and the fourth of his career. It also marked Scary's first collegiate game-winning marker and first career penalty kick
- Junior Christian Beebe made the start in goal for the Blue & Grey, and he registered one save in his second career victory at Moravian
- Moravian had a 12-7 advantage in shots while both squads took four corner kicks
