Gibbs & Weiss Receive College Sports Communicators Men’s Soccer Academic All-District Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University junior defender Donald Gibbs and sophomore defender Kyle Weiss have been named to the 2022 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Men's Soccer Team for NCAA Division III schools.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-America® honors, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.50 grade-point average, be a sophomore, junior or senior and be a starter or significant reserve. Moravian has had 56 Greyhounds named CSC Academic All-Americans®.

By making the All-District Team, Gibbs and Weiss are now forwarded onto the national ballot to try for CSC Academic All-America® accolades, which will be announced Wednesday, December 7.

The duo helped the Greyhounds to a 5-8-4 overall record this year, and the squad was 2-2-3 in Landmark Conference action. Gibbs and Weiss also helped the Blue and Grey record four shutouts in 2022.

Gibbs, a sports management major with a 3.62 grade-point average, played in 14 matches with 10 starts this fall, missing three contests due to injury. He had two goals with one game-winning marker while connecting on a penalty kick. Gibbs has played in 31 matches with 26 starts during his Moravian career, and he has two goals and an assist. He was named to the 2021 Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll.

Weiss, an education major and sociology minor with a 3.52 GPA, started 15 of the 16 matches he played in this fall. Weiss has played in 31 career contests with 18 starts, and he has one assist in his career.
