BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's soccer squad posted its first shutout win of the 2022 season with a 3-0 blanking of visiting Wilkes University in non-conference action on John Makuvek Field Wednesday afternoon.

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds had the first scoring opportunity as senior midfielder Carson Snyder took a free kick from just outside the 18-yard box that bounced off of the crossbar
  • Moravian would get on the scoreboard with just four seconds left in the first half when junior defender Donald Gibbs converted on a penalty kick to send the Blue & Grey to the intermission with a 1-0 edge
  • The Hounds doubled the lead to 2-0 in the 57th minute as Snyder put in a shot on the far post off of a slow-rolling crossing pass from sophomore forward Jakob Braman
  • Moravian connected on its second penalty kick of the match when sophomore forward Ben Scary put a low shot into the left side of the net in the 74th minute to push the advantage to 3-0

Inside the Numbers

  • Scary recorded his fourth tally of 2022 including a second via penalty kick, and his fifth career goal
