BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's soccer team rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit to earn a 1-1 tie with visiting Elizabethtown College in Landmark Conference action under the lights on John Makuvek Field Wednesday evening as the Greyhounds remained unbeaten in conference matches this fall.

How It Happened

  • The Blue Jays struck first just 5:39 into action to take an early 1-0 lead that Elizabethtown would hold that advantage through the intermission
  • Moravian ended up knotting the score in the 72nd minute. Sophomore defender Kyle Weiss took a free kick from near midfield and sent the ball into the 18-yard box. After several touches, sophomore forward Ben Scary played the ball back to the top of the box where senior midfielder Dave Steinbach fired a low shot through traffic and just inside the left post to tie the match at 1-1
  • Neither team was able to find the goal again, and with the new NCAA rules this fall with no overtime in the regular season, the contest would end in a draw as both Elizabethtown and the Greyhounds remained unbeaten in Landmark Conference action with each team picking up a point in the standings

Inside the Numbers

  • Steinbach's goal was his second of the season and seventh of his career while Scary earned his second assist of 2022
  • Junior goalie Andrew Remias registered four saves in the match
  • Elizabethtown had a 9-8 advantage in shots while the Blue & Grey held a 3-2 edge in corner kicks
