Landmark Men's Tennis Preseason Poll Released

TOWSON, Md. – The Moravian College men's tennis team has been selected to finish sixth in the 2013 Landmark Conference preseason poll voted on by the conference head coaches and announced Wednesday.

The Greyhounds return two starters from last year's squad while head coach Art Smith brought in six freshmen for the 2013 team. Head Coach Art Smith hopes to return to the Landmark postseason after posting an 8-6 overall record while finishing fourth in the Landmark.

Moravian is currently 0-1 on the season after playing one match while also participating in three invitationals during the fall. The Greyhounds will continue their season on Sunday, March 3rd as they take on Stonehill (Mass.) College down in Orlando, Florida.

Defending Landmark Conference champion Drew University was picked to repeat with 70 points and seven first place votes. The University of Scranton was picked second with 52 points and one first place vote while The Catholic University of America is picked third with 38 points. Juniata College holds down the fourth spot with 28 points while Susquehanna University and Moravian follow with 25 and 23 points, respectively. Goucher College is in seventh with 12 points while The United States Merchant Marine Academy rounds out the poll with eight points.
