SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's tennis team remained undefeated in Landmark Conference action this season at 4-0 with an 8-1 victory at Susquehanna University Saturday.
The Greyhounds swept the doubles action to open a 3-0 lead in the match. Freshman Matt Tuorto and John Wylie won at first singles while sophomore Lewis Cooper and freshman Libario Obeid were victorious at second doubles. Senior Brad Kutcha and freshman C.J. Widdifield earned a win at third doubles.
Moravian then won five of the six singles matches in straight sets to capture the match. Tuorto won at first singles while Wylie earned a win at second singles and Obeid won at third singles. Kutcha picked up a win at fifth singles, and Widdifield won at sixth singles. Cooper rallied to force a third set in his match at fourth singles but came up short in the final set.
The Greyhounds did not officially clinch a berth in the Landmark Conference Tournament yet, but in the previous five Landmark Conference seasons, no team with four conference wins has missed the tournament.
Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, April 9th when the squad hosts the University of Scranton in a Landmark Conference contest at Hoffman Courts beginning at 4:00 p.m.
