BALTIMORE, Md. --- The Moravian College men's tennis team began its 2013 Landmark Conference season with a 7-2 victory over Goucher College in a match played indoors at the Bare Hill Racquet & Fitness Center in Baltimore due to inclement weather.
The Greyhounds swept the doubles action to build a 3-0 lead. Freshman Matt Tuorto and John Wylie had a 9-8 (7-5) win at first doubles while freshman Libario Obied and sophomore Lewis Cooper also needed a tiebreaker, winning 9-8 (7-4) at second doubles. Senior Brad Kutcha and freshman C.J. Widdifield had an 8-1 victory at third doubles.
Moravian finished the contest with four straight sets wins in singles action. Obied earned a win at third singles while Cooper won at fourth singles. Kutcha earned a victory at fifth singles while Widdifield won at sixth singles.
The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Monday, March 18th in a non-conference match versus Ursinus College at Hoffman Courts beginning at 4:00 p.m.
