KUTZTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's cross country team finished second of 13 teams at the DII/III Cross Country Challenge hosted by Kutztown University of Pennsylvania Friday evening. The Greyhounds 75 points to finish 41 points behind meet winner Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania.
How It Happened
- Sophomore Owen Nahf placed ninth of the 142 runners with a time of 27:01.70 on the 8,000-meter course with fifth-year senior Shane Houghton one spot back in 27:04.80
- Senior Liam Duffy recorded a time of 27:30.50 to finish in 17th place while sophomore Jake Farrell took 18th in 27:32.20. Sophomore Nathan Hajel rounded out the Greyhounds' top-five with a 23rd place finish in a time of 27:43.30
- Sophomore Geoffrey Kleinberg placed 39th in 28:22.40 while junior Brendon Ward took 49th with a time of 28:41.70 and freshman Joe Allegro ran a time of 28:57.90 to finish 58th in his first career 8,000-meter race
- Sophomore Josh Mangini was 67th in 29:07.60 while freshman Bryan Kerchner finished one spot back at 68th in 29:07.70. Senior Christian Jancsarics ran a time of 30:13.90 to place 89th while freshman William Cooper finished 103rd in 31:10.10
- Also racing for the Greyhounds were senior Elias Aviles, who was 112th in 31:53.30, freshman John Breslin, who took 128th in 33:09.70, junior Paul Petre, who finished 130th in 33:50.00, and sophomore Wyatt Poniktera, who took 139th in 35:15.00
