TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University sophomore Owen Nahf has been selected as the Landmark Conference Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.

Nahf took first of the 57 runners in the Caslin Classic hosted by Goucher College with a time of 26:43.3 on the 8,000-meter course to lead Moravian to a first-place finish. Nahf edged teammate and fifth-year senior Shane Houghton, who clocked a time of 26:43.5, for his first collegiate cross country victory.

"We were working on an aspect of our fitness on Saturday while in a racing atmosphere," noted Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Jesse Baumann. "It required a lot of patience and fighting the urge to react too early, something Owen and Shane were certainly tempted by with a few other runners surging to the front. Both Owen and Shane found a great rhythm and consistently clipped off some splits we pre-planned. It paid off with a comfortable victory and the second fastest time of Owen's career."

The Hounds are slated to return the course on Saturday, October 15 at the Rowan University Border Battle at Gloucester County Dream Park with the 8,000-meter race beginning at 11:45 a.m.
