Moravian Garners Five All-Region Runners & Places Third at 2022 NCAA Division III Metro Regional

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's cross country squad finished third of 25 teams and had all five of its scoring runners earn All-Region honors at the 2022 NCAA Division III Metro Regional hosted by DeSales University Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds scored 87 points, trailing just winner Haverford College, which had 21 points to secure an automatic berth to next weekend's NCAA Division III National Championship in Lansing, Michigan, and Swarthmore College, which registered 74 points

Moravian Results

  • Moravian was led by sophomore Owen Nahf, who placed 14th of 176 runners with a time of 26:20 on the 8,000-meter course, to garner his first All-Region honor
  • Senior Shane Houghtonwas one spot back in 15th with a time of 26:23 as he earned All-Region accolades for the second straight fall, and junior Josh Mangini placed 16th in a time of 26:28 for his first All-Region honor
  • Sophomore Jake Farrell finished in 18th with a time of 26:31 for All-Region honors while sophomore Nathan Hajel earned his second All-Region accolade with a 24th place finish in a time of 26:40
  • Freshman Bryan Kerchner just missed All-Region honors, finishing 39th in 27:04 with the top 35 being named All-Region
  • Senior Liam Duffy rounded out the Moravian runners in 61st place with a time of 27:46
