LOGAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. --- The Moravian University men's cross country team placed 15th of 35 schools in the Rowan University Border Battle at Gloucester County Dream Park Saturday.
How It Happened
- The Greyhounds scored 396 points while Rochester Polytechnic Institute won the race with 39 points
- Moravian was the second of three Landmark Conference teams to finish the meet
Moravian Results
- Junior Josh Mangini was the top finisher for the Greyhounds as he took 68th of 306 runners in the championship race with a time of 26:14.2 on the 8,000-meter course
- Fifth-year senior Shane Houghton was one spot behind Mangini in a time of 26:14.6 while sophomore Nathan Hajel placed 81st in 26:32.3
- Rounding out Moravian's top five scorers were sophomore Jake Farrell, who finished 107th in a time of 26:53.0, and senior Liam Duffy, who was 112th in 26:58.1
- Sophomore Geoffrey Kleinberg clocked in at 27:20.4 to place 154th while freshman Bryan Kerchner was five spots back in a time of 27:44.6. Junior Casey Frank took 181st in a time of 28:10.2, and he was followed by junior Brendon Ward, who ran 28:10.5, and freshman Joe Allegro, who placed 265th in a time of 30:54.2
- Moravian also had six runners in the Open 8K race where the Greyhounds finished 14th of 17 teams with 366 points. Freshman William Cooper took 77th of 159 runners in a time of 29:30.9 while senior Christian Jancsarics was one spot back just a second behind Cooper. Freshman Jackson Gaffney placed 91st in a time of 29:55.5 while freshman John Breslin was 118th in 30:59.8. Sophomore Wyatt Poniktera finished 131st in a time of 31:55.5 while junior Paul Petre took 146th in 33:32.4
