Picciuto Named Corvias ECAC Division III South Women's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week

DANBURY, Conn. --- Moravian College freshman midfielder/attack Jillian Picciuto has been named the Corvias ECAC Division III South Women's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.

Picciuto helped Moravian, which is in its first varsity season since 2010 after five years as a club program, to a 2-0 record last week with nine goals and nine assists for 18 points. Picciuto opened the week by setting single-game school records for assists with six and points with 11 in Moravian's 17-5 win at Gwynedd Mercy University. She also added five goals; nine draw controls and two caused turnovers in the match.

Picciuto then registered four goals and three assists for seven points in the Greyhounds' 18-5 win at Delaware Valley University. She also had eight draw controls, four ground balls and a caused turnover in the contest. For the week, Picciuto had 17 draw controls, four ground balls and three caused turnovers while putting 17 of 20 shots on goal.

"Jillian has been an outstanding contributor for us all season but was a clear standout this past week," commented Head Coach Kristen Schuster. "She has proven to be instrumental on both sides of the field but has truly excelled on our offensive end. Her strength on attack is not limited to shooting alone, she also has the ability to feed and set up her teammates through the 8."

The Greyhounds, who are 3-4 on the year, are slated to return to action on Wednesday, March 30 in a non-conference match at Lancaster Bible College beginning at 4:00 p.m.
