Moravian Wins 3rd Straight with 21-8 Victory at Lancaster Bible

LANCASTER, Pa. --- Freshman midfielder Eileen Rolwood scored a game-high six goals to help lead the Moravian College women's lacrosse team to its third straight victory, a 21-8 non-conference win at Lancaster Bible College Wednesday.

Rolwood added three assists for nine points while freshman midfielder/attack Jillian Picciuto also had nine points on five goals and four assists. Picciuto now has 19 assists on the season, breaking Erica Spatz's record of 15 set in 2008. Freshman midfielder/attack Alexia Johnston netted four goals for the Greyhounds while freshman attack Jessica Pisano added two goals and two assists. Sophomore attack Kyleigh McGovern and freshman attack Kyleigh Miller both had two goals to finish the scoring for Moravian.

Freshman goalie Kelley Gavin made eight saves for the Blue and Grey while sophomore midfielder Alexis Kersten led the squad with three ground balls. Rolwood contributed seven draw controls and a pair of ground balls while Picciuto had four draw controls and a pair of caused turnovers. Johnston also grabbed four draw controls.

After giving up an early goal in the first 2:21 of action, Moravian scored three straight times, once from Picciuto and twice by Rolwood to take a 3-1 lead with 23:34 left in the first half. After the Chargers cut Moravian's lead to 5-3, the Hounds scored four times to close out the first half with a 9-3 lead and Picciuto and Rolwood each scored twice.

The Greyhounds would outscore Lancaster Bible, 12-5, in the second half as the team netted a season-high 21 goals.

Moravian, now 4-4 on the season, is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, April 2 when the squad hosts Eastern University in a non-conference match beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Rocco Calvo Field.
