Robinson Selected as Landmark Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week

Crystal Robinson competes in the Greyhound Invitational at Timothy Breidegam Track.

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College sophomore sprinter Crystal Robinson has been selected as the Landmark Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.

Robinson won the 200-meter dash at the Coach P Invitational in 25.65 seconds, and she took first in the 400-meter dash in 59.82 seconds as the Greyhounds finished second of six teams. Robinson also ran a leg of the 4x100-meter relay that had a winning time of 49.64 seconds, and she ran a leg on the 4x400-meter relay squad that was third in 4:32.10.

"Crystal had a great day especially considering she's been battling a nagging injury over the past week," stated Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Jesse Baumann. "She had some nice competition outside of her in the 400 to pull her through a quick first 200 split and help her get under a minute in the 400. She managed to run her fastest-ever 200 although the wind was slightly too strong to make it a wind legal mark, and then she also had an awesome second leg in our 4x100 as we were trying some different combinations in that event this week. When healthy and with even stronger competition later in the season, I feel confident she can get down to the times she needs to give her a good chance at making NCAAs this May."

Moravian is scheduled to return to action at the Juniata College Invitational on Saturday, April 24.
