BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College welcomed back its student-athletes Monday evening with its annual Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Kickoff, this year held on the new John Makuvek Field.
SAAC President and junior softball player Janae Matos welcomed back the student-athletes before Director of Athletics & Recreation George L. Bright talked to the Greyhounds and introduced the coaching staff and leaders from across campus.
After the short program, each student-athlete received a new Under Armour t-shirt from the Blue & Grey Club. There were also games set up on the field, a photo booth and a Kono Ice truck.
Moravian officially opens the 2016-17 athletic year on Thursday, September 1 with the men's soccer, field hockey and women's soccer teams in action. The women's soccer match will be the first home contest of the year and the first action on John Makuvek Field.
