Moravian Names Renee Hellert as Associate Director of Athletics

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College has selected Renee Hellert to join the athletics department as Associate Director of Athletics and Senior Women's Administrator beginning on July 17.

"After an extensive national search, I am pleased to welcome Renee Hellert to the Moravian College Athletic Department as our new Associate Athletic Director," stated Director of Athletics & Recreation/Head Women's Basketball Coach Mary Beth Spirk. "She brings a wealth of experience with her from New England College. I look forward to working with Renee in fostering continued success for our student-athletes in the classroom and on the field and court of play."

Hellert comes to Moravian after a 15-year career at New England College where she has served in a variety of roles, most recently as Associate Athletic Director since 2015. Hellert has also been New England College's Senior Women's Administrator for the last 12 years, and she served as Sports Information Director for 13 years and Coordinator of Support Services for three years.

"I am extremely excited and honored to join the Moravian College Community," Hellert said. "I am looking forward to working closely with coaches and administration to ensure our athletes have an amazing student-athlete experience and continued success both in the classroom and in their sport. Moravian is a very special place with a rich history and I am thankful for the opportunity and eager to play an integral role in the athletic department and at the institution."

Hellert's role at Moravian will focus on compliance with the Greyhounds' Athletic Department, filling the role that Spirk served for 16 years before becoming the Director of Athletics & Recreation on June 5. Hellert will also work on Moravian's athletic department budget and assist with the supervision of the coaching staff.

Hellert graduated from New England College in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree including a double major in Business Administration and Sport and Recreation Management. She earned her Master of Science degree in Business – Organizational Management from the school in 2002.
