McPherson Named as Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior forward Camille McPherson has been selected as the Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for the third time this season for her performance last week.

McPherson was selected as the Most Valuable Player of the 14th Roosevelt's 21st Greyhound Classic after helping the Hounds to the tournament title, their ninth in tournament history. McPherson averaged 25.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game during the tournament while shooting 18-of-32 from the floor and 13-of-14 at the foul line. McPherson had 23 points, five rebounds and a pair of assists in 34 minutes of action as Moravian defeated Penn State Lehigh Valley, 83-74, in the opening round, and she added 28 points, seven boards and three assists in 36 minutes in an 88-78 win over Lebanon Valley College in the championship game.

"Camille continues to play at a high level," stated Head Coach Mary Beth Spirk. "She had a great weekend on both ends of the court. Camille can take over a game on the offensive end, but also will rebound and defend to make her as good as anyone in the country. We are expecting Camille to lead our team as we move into conference play."

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, January 7 in a Landmark Conference game at Susquehanna University beginning at 2:00 p.m. in Selinsgrove.
