Moravian Women Have 5 ECAC Qualifiers at Lafayette/Rider Winter Games

NEW YORK, N.Y. --- The Moravian College women's track & field team competed at the non-scoring Lafayette College-Rider University Winter Games at the New York City Armory Friday evening.  The Greyhounds had one event winner and five ECAC qualifiers in the meet.  The meet was run with College and Invitational heats in all events with Moravian competing in the college heats.

Senior Abigail Schaffer won the pole vault with an ECAC qualifying height of 3.90 meters (12 feet, 9 ½ inches), a height which is tied for second on the TFRRS list.  This is the fourth straight meet that Schaffer has cleared 3.90 meters.  Sophomore Allison Vanek was second in the pole vault at an ECAC qualifying height of 3.45 meters (11 feet, 3 ¾ inches), which is tied for 19th on the TFRRS list while freshman Hailey Kester placed third at an ECAC qualifying mark of 3.30 meters (ten feet, ten inches), which is tied for 40th on the TFRRS list, but Kester is already tied for 28th.  Freshman Dana Fineman was fifth in the pole vault at 3.15 meters (ten feet, four inches).

Junior Micah Leonard was second in the long jump with an ECAC qualifying leap of 5.33 meters (17 feet, six inches), which is 29th on the TFRRS list while freshman Brielle Sutter took fourth in the 400-meter dash with an ECAC qualifying time of 59.94 seconds.  Senior Kristina Ruggerio was fifth in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:24.72 for the Greyhounds.
