Greyhounds Compete at Danny Curran Invitational

CHESTER, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's outdoor track & field team competed at the non-scoring Danny Curran Invitational hosted by Widener University Friday and Saturday.

The Greyhounds had seven top-ten finishes and a pair of ECAC qualifiers in the meet.  Freshman Brielle Sutter placed fourth in the 200-meter dash in 26.86 seconds, and she was eighth in the 100-meter dash in 13.23 seconds.  Sutter ran on Moravian's "A" 4x400-meter relay squad with senior Lisa Williamson and freshman Morgan Redmond and Brianna Wright, and the quartet placed seventh in a time of 4:14.64.

In the pole vault, sophomore Allison Vanek placed third in at an ECAC qualifying height of 3.60 meters (11 feet, 9 3/4 inches), which is tied for sixth on the 2012 Track & Field Results Reporting System list to qualify for the NCAA Division III National Championships. Those ranked in the top 22 individuals and top 16 relays at the end of the season will compete at the national meet. Freshman Hailey Kester finished in a tie for fourth in the pole vault at an ECAC qualifying height of 3.40 meters (11 feet, 1 3/4 inches), which is tied for 12th on the TFRRS list, while freshman Dana Fineman was tied for eighth in the meet at 3.10 meters (ten feet, two inches).

Freshman Giana Vecchio placed tenth in the triple jump with a distance of 10.06 meters (33 feet, 1/4 inch).

Moravian is scheduled to return to action Friday and Saturday, April 5 & 6 at the Sam Howell Invitational hosted by Princeton University.
