Schaffer & Williamson Earn Conference Athletes of the Week

MADISON, N.J. – Seniors Abby Schaffer and Lisa Williamson of the Moravian College women's track & field team were named Landmark Conference Athletes of the Week for the week of April 23rd.

Schaffer was the named the field athlete of the week after setting a new school, Landmark record and NCAA Division III record by clearing 4.22 meters (13 feet, 10 inches) to win the pole vault at the Greyhound Invitational. This is the best mark in NCAA Division III this season.

Williamson was named the track athlete of the week after turning in two of the fastest performances in the conference this season at the Greyhound Invitational. She ran a 12.93 to place seventh in the 100-meter dash, and then was eighth in the 200-meter dash in a time of 25.87. Both times are ECAC qualifying marks and rank as the fastest in the conference this season. Williamson also ran on the 4x100 relay team that had an ECAC qualifying time of 50.06.

Moravian returns to action on Saturday and Sunday, April 28th and 29th as they host the Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships.
