Men & Women Ranked in Latest Regional Rankings; Men Rank 24th Nationally

NEW ORLEANS, La. --- The Moravian College men's & women's track & field teams are both ranked in the Mideast Region in the sixth NCAA Division III Regional Team Index of the 2012 outdoor season released by the U S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Wednesday with the Moravian men rank third in the region while the women are fifth. The men are also ranked 24th in the national poll.

The Greyhound men have a total of 242.64 points. Haverford College leads the Mideast Region with 349.79 points. Widener University has moved up from fourth to second with 245.62. Salisbury University sits in fourth place with 241.23 points while Carnegie Mellon University is fifth with 202.04 points.

The Greyhound women have a total of 195.72 points. Johns Hopkins University sits atop the Mideast Region with 263.23 while Salisbury is second with 251.06 points. Lebanon Valley College is third with 205.18 points while Elizabethtown College is fourth with 198.24 points.

The scoring system for the teams shall be the sum of two factors measured per individual/relay performance on the national descending-order lists: place on the descending order list and a weighed value of the individual/relay performance based on the field ("bonus"). Moravian will return to action on Monday, May 7th for a Last Chance Meet at Swarthmore College. The following week the Greyhounds will take part in the 2012 ECAC Division III Outdoor Championships at Rennsalear Polytechnic Institute. The meet is set for May 17-18.
