SWARTHMORE, Pa. --- Sophomore Kristopher Joint and junior Travis King of the Moravian College men's outdoor track & field team each set career bests in the triple jump to move closer to qualifying for the NCAA Division III Championships Monday evening at the Tuppeny Twilight Last Chance Meet hosted by Swarthmore College.

Joint had the second best jump in school history and set a Landmark Conference record with an ECAC qualifying mark of 14.45 meters (47 feet, five inches) to place second in the event while King was third with an ECAC qualifying distance of 14.41 meters (47 feet, 3 1/2 inches), the fourth best mark in school history.  Joint moved into a tie for 22nd on the Track & Field Results Reporting System list while King is now tied for 25th.  Those men ranked in the top 20 for individuals and top 16 for relays at the end of the season will compete at the national meet next week in Claremont, California.  Joint will need to add two and a half inches to his leap at the ECAC meet later this week to get into the top 20 while King needs to add four inches.

Senior Timothy Layng tied for first in the pole vault at the Tuppeny Twilight, clearing an ECAC qualifying mark of 4.80 meters (15 feet, nine inches).

On the track, freshman Dillon Farrell ran a school record, a Landmark Conference record and ECAC qualifying time of 14:40.52 in the 5,000-meter run, taking 17 seconds off of his school record set back in March, to place 11th.  Farrell's time also moved him to 36th on the TFRRS list.  Senior Matthew Lutcza was 14th in the race in an ECAC qualifying time of 14:47.11.

Senior Steve Ambrosi equaled his best time of the season in the 800-meter run, finishing 11th in an ECAC qualifying time of 1:52.87, which has him tied for 37th on the TFRRS list.  Junior Vincent McDowell was 11th in the 400-meter hurdles in 57.95 seconds while senior Kyle D'Angelo took 15th in the 400-meter dash in 51.72 seconds.
