MADISON, N.J. – Senior pole vaulter Timothy Layng of the Moravian College men's track & field team was named Landmark Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week for the week of January 23rd.
Layng opened 2012 with a strong performance at the Mountain Hawk Multi and Invitational. He won the pole vault even, besting a 16-person field of Division I and II competitors. He cleared 4.60 meters (15 feet, one inch) to win the event, a mark that ranks as the 11th best performance in Division III in the early season.
Moravian track & field gets back in action on Saturday, January 28th when they travel to Newark, Delaware for the Thomson Invitational at The University of Delaware.
