Javelin Throwers Compete at Lions Last Chance Meet

EWING, N.J. --- The Moravian College's three men's javelin throwers competed at the 2012 Lions Last Chance Meet hosted by The College of New Jersey Thursday afternoon in a final tune-up to the 2012 NCAA Division III National Championships next week.

Senior Gary Zack was second in the field with a toss of 63.96 meters (209 feet, ten inches), and he heads to the NCAA meet with the best throw in the nation earlier this spring and as the defending national champion.  Junior Tyler Potterton finished fourth with a toss of 60.02 meters (196 feet, 11 inches), and he is 21st in the nation currently, one spot outside of a trip to nationals if everyone ahead of him attends the meet. Sophomore Timothy Lorah was sixth at the Lions Last Chance meet in his first action in over a month with a toss of 58.30 meters (191 feet, three inches), and he is 15th in the country heading into next week's national championships.
