Women's Volleyball Starts 2017 Season with 15th Annual Greyhound Premiere

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's volleyball squad will host the 15th Annual Greyhound Premiere Invitational on Friday and Saturday, September 1-2 in both Johnston Hall and Timothy Breidegam Fieldhouse to begin the Greyhounds' 2017 season.

The Blue and Grey will face Alvernia University and Baldwin-Wallace College from Ohio on the opening evening of the tournament before taking on Pitt-Bradford and York College of Pennsylvania on Saturday, September 2. Moravian has just five other home matches scheduled the rest of the season after the opening weekend including a non-conference match with DeSales University in Johnston Hall on Wednesday, September 6.

The Greyhounds hit the road for the first time in a tri-match at FDU-Florham with St. Joseph's (Long Island) College on Saturday, September 9 before making the trek to rival Muhlenberg College on Wednesday, September 13. The Greyhounds will spend Friday and Saturday, September 15-16 at the Neumann University Knights Invitational with matches against Salisbury University and Ursinus College on Friday evening and host Neumann and a team to be determined on Saturday. Moravian finishes its first road swing with a match at Farmingdale State (N.Y.) College on Tuesday, September 19.

The Hounds return to Johnston Hall on Thursday, September 21 for a non-conference match versus Wilkes University before hitting the road again. Moravian's next road trip has a tri-match at Franklin & Marshall College with Haverford College on Saturday, September 23, a non-conference match at Marywood University on Monday, September 25 and the first Landmark Conference Weekend of the season on Saturday, September 30 as the Greyhounds head to Elizabethtown College to battle the Blue Jays and Juniata College.

Moravian opens October on the road as well but this time halfway across the country as the Hounds head to Texas Lutheran University on Friday, October 6 and Schreiner (Texas) University on Saturday, October 7. The Blue & Grey will return home on Saturday, October 14 to host the second Landmark Conference Weekend of the season as the squad takes on The University of Scranton and Susquehanna University in Johnston Hall.

The Hounds head back on the road for a non-conference match at Montclair State University on Tuesday, October 17 before competing in the Wilkes University Colonel Clash on Friday and Saturday, October 20-21 with matches versus Keystone College and Kean (N.J.) University on Friday and Morrisville State (N.Y.) College and host Wilkes on Saturday.

Moravian begins the final week of the regular season with a non-conference match at Arcadia University on Tuesday, October 24 before the final home match of the season versus Penn State-Berks on Thursday, October 26 in Johnston Hall. The Greyhounds close out the slate with the third Landmark Conference Weekend at Goucher College with The Catholic University of America.

The 2017 Landmark Conference Tournament is slated to begin on Wednesday, November 1 with a pair of semifinal matches at the top two seeds, and the winners will meet at the highest remaining seed on Saturday, November 4 to determine the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
