LANDOVER, Md. --- The Moravian University men's indoor track & field team finished as the runner-up at the 2025 Landmark Conference Indoor Championships at the Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex Saturday.
How It Happened
- The Hounds scored 150 points while Susquehanna University took first with 201 points
- Moravian won five individual titles of the 17 events
- The Blue& Grey posted seven All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying marks
Moravian Event Winners
- Graduate student Cole Stanchina opened the meet by breaking the championship meet record in the 5,000-meter run with an AARTFC qualifying time of 15:07.27
- Junior Jerome Luckey captured the high jump with a season-best and AARTFC qualifying height of 2.03 meters (6-8)
- Sophomore Jordan Gagner won the 800-meter run in a time of 1:58.46
- Junior Anthony Morillo captured first in the shot put with an AARTFC qualifying and PR distance of 14.57 meters (47-9.75). Morillo was honored as the 2025 Men's Indoor Field Performer of the Year
- Senior Owen Nahf won the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:49.68
Moravian Top 8 Scoring Finishers
- Senior Nathan Hajel was the runner-up in the 5,000-meter run with a AARTFC qualifying time of 15:08.29, better than the previous meet record, while sophomore Gavin Hefferan placed third in an AARTFC qualifying time of 15:22.19, graduate student Josh Mangini took fifth at 15:33.18 and senior Owen Nahf finished sixth in a time of 15:40.70
- Stanchina finished second in the 3,000-meter run in 8:51.17 while Hajel placed third in 8:51.75, Hefferan took fourth with a PR time of 8:52.55 and sophomore Nate Moore was sixth with a PR time of 8:57.53
- Senior Trevor Gray took second in the 60-meter dash with an AARTFC qualifying time of 6.95 seconds in the finals after a time of 6.96 seconds in the preliminaries, the third-fastest time
- Morillo took third in the 35-pound weight throw with a PR toss of 13.53 meters (44-4.75)
- Graduate student Jeremy Goll placed third in the shot put with a PR distance of 14.09 meters (46-2.75) and senior Prince Sokpo took seventh at a PR mark of 12.48 meters (40-11.5)
- Sophomore Mael Tshiyonga finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with an AARTFC qualifying and PR time of 8.52 seconds in the finals after running a time of 8.69 seconds in the preliminaries for the seventh-best time
- Junior Bryan Kerchner placed fourth in the mile run in a time of 4:24.70 while graduate student Casey Frank finished fifth in 4:25.81 and senior Jake Farrell took seventh in 4:35.20
- Moravian's 4x400-meter relay team of Gray, Gagner, sophomore Damian De Los Santos Suriel and freshman Owen Smith took fifth in 3:31.35
- The Hounds distance medley relay squad of sophomore Logan Betyeman and Jackson Royds and freshmen Charles Champagne and Delferson Contreras was sixth in a time of 11:02.23
- Junior Joe Allegro finished sixth in the 800-meter run in 2:00.91
- Gray was seventh in the 200-meter dash in a time of 23.25 seconds
- Freshman Diego Portales placed seventh in the pole vault at a height of 3.65 meters (11-11.75)
