TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University sophomore Anthony Morillo has been selected as the Landmark Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.

Morillo placed sixth in the discus at the Danny Curran Invitational hosted by Widener University with an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying and PR toss of 46.21 meters (151-7), the third-best mark in program history. Morillo also finished 12th in the shot put with an outdoor PR mark of 13.75 meters (45-1.5).

"Anthony had a great start to his outdoor season this past weekend at the Widener Danny Curran Invite," commented Throwing Coach Jonathan D'Ottavio. "He's been working hard in practice and we're starting to see some of the technique we've been working on the past few months show up in his meet throws. To start the outdoor season with an almost 2-meter personal best in the Discus, shows what kind of shape Anthony is already in. We know he has big goals for the outdoor season and this is just the start we were looking for to hit those marks."

Moravian is slated to return to action on Friday & Saturday, April 4-5 when the team competes in the Muhlenberg College Invitational.
