BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's basketball squad is scheduled to start its 2023-24 season on Wednesday, November 8 with a non-conference game in a non-conference game at rival Muhlenberg College tipping off at 7:30 p.m. in Allentown.
The Greyhounds, led by 37th year Head Coach Mary Beth Spirk, have four other contests in the opening month of the season including trips to Immaculata University on Saturday, November 11 and Albright College on Saturday, November 18. The Hounds open their home schedule with the annual Tuesday before Thanksgiving game with DeSales University on November 21 in Johnston Hall, and the squad finishes the month with its 2023-24 Landmark Conference opener on Wednesday, November 29 versus Drew University in Bethlehem.
The Blue and Grey start December with three straight Landmark Conference games including trips to Susquehanna University on Saturday, December 2 and Goucher College on Wednesday, December 6 before the team hosts The Catholic University of America on Saturday, December 9. Moravian will welcome Lebanon Valley College to Johnston Hall on Saturday, December 16 after finals, and the squad then hosts the annual Steel Club Classic on Friday-Saturday, December 29-30 with the Hounds facing Neumann University on the opening day and then either Capital (Ohio) University or Salisbury (Md.) University.
When the calendar flips to 2024, the Greyhounds have their remaining 14 Landmark Conference games on the schedule. Moravian will play five of its nine games in the month of January in Johnston Hall beginning on Wednesday, January 3 versus Juniata College. The Hounds head to Lycoming College on Saturday, January 6 before heading back home to host The University of Scranton on Wednesday, January 10 and Elizabethtown College on Friday, January 12. The Blue & Grey head to Wilkes University for the first time as a conference opponent on Wednesday, January 17, and the squad hosts Susquehanna on Saturday, January 20 and Goucher on Wednesday, January 24. Moravian starts a season-long four-game road trip at the end of the month with games at Catholic on Saturday, January 27 and Drew on Wednesday, January 31.
February opens with the road trip continuing to Elizabethtown on Saturday, February 3 and Scranton on Wednesday, February 7. The Hounds will return to Johnston Hall on Saturday, February 10 to host Lycoming as well as the squad's annual alumni game, Senior Day and the Play4Kay contest. The Blue & Grey will welcome Wilkes on Wednesday, February 14 before completing the regular season at Juniata on Saturday, February 17.
The Greyhounds aim to qualify for the 2024 Landmark Conference Tournament that begins on Tuesday, February 20 with the first round game between the fourth and fifth seeds, and the championship game is slated for Saturday, February 24 at the highest remaining seeds' home court.
