TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University junior forward Brielle Guarente has been named to the 2024 Landmark Women’s Basketball All-Conference Second Team while senior forward Sam Osorio was selected to the Honorable Mention squad.

Guarente averaged 10.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per game this winter for the Greyhounds, and she had 53 assists, 50 steals and 17 blocked shots while playing a team-high 30.3 minutes per contest. In three seasons with the Blue & Grey, Guarente has 553 points, 293 rebounds, 126 assists, 97 steals and 33 blocked shots.

“Brielle had a solid year and am happy she was recognized as an All-Conference player,” noted Head Coach Mary Beth Spirk. “This is a very good conference with great players, so Brielle’s recognition is impressive. Her ability to score and defend inside and outside is her strength. I look forward to coaching her another year and watching her develop into an even stronger player next season.”

Osorio led Moravian with averages of 11.7 points and 8.4 rebounds per outing this season, and she also had a team-high 37 blocked shots to go along with 40 steals and 20 assists. Osorio completed her four seasons with 873 points and 669 rebounds, which is 11th in program history, to go with 93 blocked shots, which is ninth all-time, 129 steals and 51 assists.

“Congratulations to Sam on her recognition as an All-Conference player as well,” Spirk stated. “An undersized but very athletic post player, she is consistently double teamed when she touches the ball. Sam has learned to adapt her game this year and yet continued to lead the team in points, rebounds and blocks. Her consistent play this year helped to earn this recognition.”

The Greyhounds completed the season with an 8-18 overall record, and the squad was 7-11 in Landmark Conference action to earn the fifth seed in the Landmark Conference Tournament, the program’s 33rd postseason berth in 37 years under Spirk’s direction.
