MADISON, N.J. --- The Moravian College women's lacrosse squad posted a 16-5 non-conference victory at FDU-Florham Friday afternoon.
The Greyhounds, now 2-1 on the year after their second straight victory, were led offensively by sophomore midfielder Lindsey Strohl, who had five goals and an assist to go along with five draw controls. Junior midfielder Meaghan McMullan contributed four goals, three assists, three draw controls and three caused turnovers while senior attack Liz Bill had two goals and a pair of draw controls.
Junior attack Danielle Sullivan and freshman attack Megan Donnelly each had a goal and an assist with Donnelly scooping up two ground balls while junior attack Breanna Federico, junior defender Olivia Clearie and freshman attack Devin King each netting one goal with Clearie adding nine draw controls, three caused turnovers and a pair of ground balls.
Freshman goalie Brelyn Friedman recorded 11 saves for her second win of the season while freshman midfielder Emily Hoskin had a team-high three ground balls for the Blue and Grey.
Bill opened the scoring eight minutes into the contest, and two goals from McMullan and another two by Strohl had the Greyhounds leading 5-0 with just over 13 minutes left in the first half. After the Devils netted their first goal of the match, Moravian scored five more times with Bill making a 10-1 lead with 4:48 until the intermission. McMullan and Strohl each scored once more before the end of the half as the Hounds headed to the break with a 12-2 advantage.
The Blue and Grey netted five of the eight goals in the second half including King's first career goal with just over a minute to go.
Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, March 3 in a non-conference contest at The College of New Jersey beginning at 4:00 p.m.
