WASHINGTON, D.C. --- The Moravian University women's soccer squad earned its first Landmark Conference win of the year by defeating The Catholic University of America, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened

  • Freshman midfielder Anika Buzzy scored on a header off a corner kick taken by freshman midfielder Chelsea Meltzer in the second minute of the match
  • Catholic and Moravian would total 11 first half shots, with the Greyhounds taking four to Catholic's five, but the Blue and Grey would take their 1-0 advantage into halftime
  • In the second half, both squads would take the same number of shots as they did in the first half, but the Greyhounds held onto their lead and closed out the match to earn a 1-0 victory over Catholic

  • Catholic outshot the Greyhounds 12-10 and both squads earned four corner kicks apiece
  • Buzzy scored her first goal wearing the Blue and Grey
