Greyhounds Earn 2020-21 United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award

Greyhounds garner United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. --- The Moravian University women's soccer program was among 383 college women's soccer teams recognized with the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2020-21 academic year. This is fifth time the program has received this honor and the first time since 2016.

The Greyhounds posted a team GPA of 3.60 under eighth-year head coach Jeff Ykoruk and a total of 18 student-athletes earned spots on the Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll a year ago while maintaining over a 3.20 GPA. Moravian was one of six Landmark Conference institutions to receive recognition.

"It's a great achievement for the players during a stressful and challenging year," commented Head Coach Jeff Ykoruk. "Being virtual the majority of the time was tricky to navigate through and to finish the year with a 3.6 is amazing."

A total of 606 college soccer teams (223 men, 383 women) posted a team GPA of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2020-21 academic year. Of that total, 91 schools had both their men's and women's programs recognized.
