BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Senior defender Alexa Brown of the Moravian University women's soccer team has been selected to the 2021 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team for NCAA Division III schools in District IV.

To be eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America® honors, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.30 grade-point average, be a sophomore, junior or senior and be a starter or significant reserve. District IV in NCAA Division III is made up of schools from Pennsylvania. Moravian has had 54 Greyhounds named CoSIDA Academic All-Americans®.

By making the All-District First Team, Brown is now forwarded onto the national ballot to try for CoSIDA Academic All-America® accolades, which will be announced Wednesday, December 8. There are a total of three student-athletes from the Landmark Conference on Academic All-District Teams.

Brown helped the Greyhounds to a 6-5-4 record this fall including a 3-3-1 mark in the Landmark Conference regular season to earn the fourth seed in the 2021 Landmark Conference Tournament.

"Alexa is an extremely organized and hardworking student-athlete," commented Head Coach Jeff Ykoruk. "Her time management skills are tremendous and the small details matter to her. She is such a great role model for the younger members of our team, and I'm excited she is being recognized for all that she does."

Brown was selected to the Landmark All-Conference First Team this fall. She contributed a goal, which was a game-winning goal, and two assists, and Brown also helped Moravian post eight shutouts in 2021. During her career, Brown started 42 of 43 matches, and she had three goals and two assists with two of the three goals winning contests. Defensively, Brown helped the Greyhounds record 20 shutouts in her career.

Off the pitch, Brown has a 4.00 GPA as a health sciences major with a focus on pre-physical therapy. She has been named to Moravian's Dean's Honors List six times during her collegiate career, and Brown is also a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society and the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society. She is a three-time selection to the Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll as well. Brown is a member of the Pre-Health Club and serves as a 26 Points Ambassador at Moravian, giving tours to prospective students.
