Greyhounds Head to Scranton for Landmark Conference Semifinals on November 3

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's soccer squad has earned the fourth seed in the 2021 Landmark Conference Tournament and will head to top seed and No. 18 The University of Scranton for a semifinal match on Wednesday, November 3 at 7:00 p.m.

Admission to Wednesday's match is $7 for adults and $4 for minors ages 10-17 and seniors 62 and older. Children ages nine and under are admitted free of charge, as are all Landmark Conference students, faculty and staff with their school ID.

The winner of the semifinal match will play the winner of the other semifinal contest between second seed Susquehanna University and third seed Elizabethtown College on Saturday, November 6 at the highest remaining seed for the conference title and a berth to the 2021 NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament.

The Greyhounds, who are 6-4-4 overall and were 3-3-1 in the Landmark Conference regular season, are under the direction of eighth-year Head Coach Jeff Ykoruk, who has the squad playing in the Landmark Conference Tournament for the fourth time in his tenure and the first time since 2018. Moravian has posted eight shutouts this year including a pair of double-overtime draws, and the team has ended all four of its overtime matches this fall in ties. When the Greyhounds and Royals met during the regular season, Scranton posted a 4-0 victory on October 23 in Scranton.

Senior forward Charlotte Smith leads the Hounds with three goals this fall while freshman midfielder Chelsea Meltzer has a goal and three assists. Senior defender Alexa Brown has a goal and two assists while junior forward Emma Lenthe has contributed a goal and an assist. Senior forward Megan Chesney, senior midfielder Amanda Meinster, sophomore forward Lindsay Mullin, freshman midfielder Anika Buzzy, freshman defender Kylie Hughes and freshman midfielder Taylor Yoder all have scored one goal while freshman defender Hailey Scaff and junior defender Caroline Doyle have added one assist.

Sophomore goalie Payce Korpics has made 24 saves to go with a 0.75 goals-against average and a 6-3-1 mark in 601 minutes of action, and she has combined on seven shutouts with sophomore keeper Paige Harrison, who has recorded 30 saves, a 1.05 goals-against average and a 0-1-3 mark in 684 minutes of action. Freshman goalie Abigail Brunell has three saves in 55 minutes and has combined on a shutout with Korpics and Harrison.

The Greyhounds have one Landmark Conference Championship since the conference began in 2007 with Moravian winning the title in 2008. The Blue and Grey have also appeared in the NCAA Division III Tournament three times with berths in 2005, 2007 and 2008.
