ITHACA, N.Y. --- The Moravian University women's indoor track & field squad finished 17th at the 2025 All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Indoor Championships after the second day of competition at Ithaca (N.Y.) College Saturday.
How it Happened
- The Greyhounds scored 15 points overall and 12 points on Saturday to place 17th of the 45 teams that scored points. Moravian was the highest scoring Landmark Conference squad at the meet
- SUNY Geneseo took first place with 106 points
Moravian Finishers
- Senior Karalyn Vashey took fifth in the 20-pound weight throw to garner four points. Vashey broke the school record on her first attempt with a mark of 16.52 meters before bettering the mark with a toss of 16.57 meters (54-4.5) on her third attempt, which was her best mark of the day. Senior Caillie Fish was 28th overall in the weight throw at 13.67 meters (44-10.25) while junior Margie Rayne finished 35th at 13.00 meters (43-8)
- Senior Abby Giamoni recorded four points with a fifth place in the 400-meter dash in a PR time of 57.84 seconds, the second-best time in school history. Sophomore Rachele Grigoli took 25th in the race in 1:00.78
- Junior Ali Haefele placed sixth in the triple jump with a distance of 11.28 meters (37-0.25) to earn three points for Moravian
- Giamoni added another point with an eighth place showing in the 200-meter dash in 25.54 seconds
- Junior Tara Smurla finished ninth in the 3,000-meter run in a time of 10:23.79
- Haefele also tied for 15th in the high jump at height of 1.52 meters (4-11.75)
