Abby Giamoni for Landmark Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University senior sprinter Abby Giamoni has been named Landmark Conference Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.

Giamoni captured first in the 400-meter dash in the Moravian Indoor Meet at Lehigh University's Rauch Field House in an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying time of 59.14 seconds, her second fastest indoor career mark in the event. Giamoni was also first in the 200-meter dash in an AARTFC qualifying time of 25.96 seconds.

"Abby opened up in the 400m this past weekend with a flat track PR and a regional qualifying performance," commented Assistant Sprint/Jump Coach Molly Sear. "Her win in both the 200m and the 400m prove her dedication to this sport. She's consistently supporting her teammates and continuously working to improve as a sprinter. Abby leads by example for the rest of the group and is a part of our overall success as a program. We're excited to see what is in store for Abby for the rest of the season as we continue to prepare for bigger meets."

The Hounds are slated to return to action on Saturday, January 25 when the squad competes in the Franklin & Marshall College Coach I Invitational beginning at 9:30 a.m.
