LANCASTER, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's indoor track & field team won a pair of events at the Franklin & Marshall College Coach I Invitational Saturday.
Moravian Event Winners
- Senior Abby Giamoni captured first place in the 200-meter dash in an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying time of 25.96 seconds
- Junior Tara Smurla won the mile run with an AARTFC and PR time of 5:14.42
Moravian Top 10 Finishers
- Junior Karalyn Vashey was the runner-up in the 20-pound weight throw with a school record and AARTFC qualifying toss of 15.60 meters (51-2.25) while senior Caillie Fish placed eighth at 13.88 meters (45-6.5) and junior Margie Rayne took ninth at 13.55 meters (44-5.5)
- Junior Ali Haefele finished second in the triple jump at a distance of 10.80 meters (35-5.25) while freshman Bella Fiore took seventh at 10.01 meters (32-10.25)
- Freshman Emma Shafnisky placed third in the long jump with a leap of 5.04 meters (16-6.5)
- Rayne finished fifth in the shot put with a toss of 11.36 meters (37-3.25) while senior Mikayla Woodring was seventh at 10.98 meters (36-0.25)
- Freshman Tessa Hopkins placed sixth in the pole vault at a PR height of 3.03 meters (9-11.25)
- Shafnisky also earned sixth in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles in 9.81 seconds after a qualifying time of 9.68 seconds
- Senior Rachael Goodman finished seventh in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 19:48.13
- Sophomore Rachele Grigoli took seventh in the 200-meter dash in a PR time of 27.37 seconds
- Haefele was also seventh in the high jump with a mark of 1.47 meters (4-9.75)
