Men's Tennis Finishes Fall Season at Scranton Invitational

SCRANTON, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's tennis team closed out the fall portion of its 2013-14 season with the second day of The University of Scranton Invitational Sunday.

The Greyhounds had seven student-athletes compete in the non-team scoring tournament on Sunday with sophomore John Wylie playing in the semifinals of the A singles flight. Wylie fell to Max Appello of Wilkes University, 6-3, 6-0.

Moravian's other six players competed in exhibition matches after being knocked out of the tournament on Saturday. Freshmen Mike Antonis and Giovanni Lombardi won a pair of doubles contests Sunday while sophomore C.J. Widdifield and freshman Dan Schmucker won their doubles match.

Sophomore Matt Tuorto earned a singles win over Matt Prendergast from Scranton while freshman Alec Gerhart dropped a pair of singles contests.

Moravian will begin its spring schedule on February 26, 2014 with a non-conference match at Baptist Bible College.
