Men's Tennis Sweeps Delaware Valley to Begin Season

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's tennis team opened its 2014-15 season with a 9-0 sweep of Delaware Valley College in non-conference action Saturday at the Doylestown Racquet Club.

The Aggies were playing their first men's tennis match in more than 50 years are adding the sport to the varsity level this fall.

The Greyhounds' duos of juniors John Wylie and Matt Tuorto and senior Lewis Cooper and sophomore Giovanni Lombardi each posted 8-0 wins in doubles action with the Greyhounds picking up a third win by default.

Moravian won five singles matches in straight sets with victories by Tuorto, Wylie, Cooper, Lombardi and freshman David Wilson.

The Hounds will return to action on Wednesday, September 10 with their fall 2014 home opener when Albright College comes to Hoffman Courts for a non-conference match beginning at 4:00 p.m.
