Moravian Competes at Kutztown University Last Chance Qualifier

Kutztown, Pa. --- The Moravian men's and indoor track and field team had a strong showing at the Kutztown University Last Chance Qualifier on Friday in the final tune-up to the Landmark Conference Championships next weekend.

On the men's side, senior Da'Juon Hibbert finished sixth in the long jump with a distance of 6.01 meters (19-8.75) while in the men's weight throw junior Jon Anthony threw a distance of 14.09 meters (48-10.75) and sophomore Ryan Harper threw a distance of 13.97 meters (45-10.00) putting him in eighth place. Junior Scott Goodwin took second after going a height of 4.40 meters (14-5.25) and senior Preston Weidner grabbed fourth place with a height of 3.80 meters (12-5.5). Closing out the men's field events in the shot put, freshmen Shane Mastro threw a distance of 13.46 meters (44-2) putting him in eighth place.

On the track, in the men's 3000-meter run sophomore Gavin Kemery finished third with a time of 9:46.66 and sophomore Devon Fogel finished in fourth with a time of 9:52.48 and following behind freshman Franklin Musnuff placed sixth with a time of 10:03.63. In the men's mile run, sophomore Alex Tursi finished in ninth with a time of 4:49.65 and in the men's 55-meter hurdles junior John Spirk claimed second place with a time of 7.80 seconds. Freshman Zion Howard came in third place with a time of 6.61 seconds and senior Eric Morton finished sixth with a time of 6.77 seconds. In the 400-meter dash, freshman Sean McFarland crossed the finish line in first with a time of 54.09 seconds and sophomore Evan Lutz grabbed second place with a time of 54.16 seconds. In the men's 200-meter dash, Howard finished in first with a time of 22.74 seconds and junior Chris Antoine finishing in tenth with a time of 24.53 seconds.

The Greyhounds are back in action on Saturday February 24 for the 2018 Landmark Conference Indoor Championships at Susquehanna University starting at 10:00 a.m.
