Robert Condo '18 selected as Landmark Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior Robert Condo has been selected as the Landmark Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.

Condo had a winning toss of 55.56 meters (182-3) in the javelin at the University of Maryland Invitational in his first event since competing at the 2017 NCAA Division III National Championships back in May. Condo recorded the distance on his first throw of the day, and he threw better than 50.86 meters on all six of his attempts. He finished nearly 14 feet ahead of the next competitor.

"It was a solid start to the season for Rob," stated Head Coach Jesse Baumann. "He's been looking incredible in practice and I know both he and Coach Luciano were eager to see how he'd throw in the first meet out. We know he has more in him, but he needed a meet to shake off the rust a bit and it was good to go down to Maryland and get an early-season victory. He'll be well over 60 meters again soon, but it was still a nice start to his season."

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, March 24 at the West Chester University Golden Ram Invitational beginning at 11:00 a.m.
