Danoski Sets School Record in 800 at Swarthmore Final Qualifer

SWARTHMORE, Pa. --- Sophomore Carly Danoski ran a school record time to help lead the Moravian College women's track & field team to a ninth place finish at the Swarthmore College Final Qualifier on Monday evening.

Danoski posted a school and Landmark Conference record time of 2:10.72 in the 800-meter run as she placed seventh in the race. Her time moves her to sixth in the nation on the Track & Field Results Reporting System list with the top 22 females on the list after action this Thursday qualifying for the NCAA Division III National Championships that begin on May 24 in Wisconsin. She scored 10 points in the event to help the Greyhounds finished ninth of 43 teams with 25 points.

In other results on the track, junior Anna Osman was 11th in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:04.87, the third fastest time in school history, and she placed 17th in the 200-meter dash in 26.70 seconds. Freshman Tatiana Lopez finished 11th in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.79 seconds while freshman Aimee Badman was 13th in the 100-meter dash in 13.10 seconds and freshman Camaryn Wheeler took 18th in the 400-meter dash in 1:01.99. Senior Sarah Hughes placed 20th in the 5,000-meter in a time of 17:58.26.

Senior Trista Cunningham led the Greyhounds in the field events with a fourth place finish in the discus with a toss of 40.21 meters (131-11). Senior Beth Ann Davies was tied for second in the pole vault at 3.05 meters (10-0) while senior Casie Cronk was tied for fifth in the high jump at 1.52 meters (4-11.75) and junior Jordan Luciano took ninth in the long jump at 5.01 meters (16-5.25).

Moravian is slated to have one more chance to qualify individuals for the NCAA Division III National Championships when the squad competes at the Widener University Mid East Invitational on Wednesday and Thursday, May 16-17.
