Nine Baseball Players Ranked in Latest NCAA Statistics

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Nine members of the Moravian College baseball team are ranked nationally in the second NCAA Division III statistics release of the 2013 season, and the team is ranked in six statistical categories as well.

Sophomore third baseman Ryan Luke leads the team by being ranked in five statistical categories. Luke is tied for second in the nation with five sacrifice flies, and he is tied for 13th with three triples, 77th in triples per game at 0.21, tied for 43rd in RBIs per game with 1.21 per contest and tied for 54th in RBIs with 17.

Sophomore outfielder Matt Hanson is 15th in doubles per game at 0.64, tied for 33rd in triples with two, tied for 15th in doubles with nine and 63rd in slugging percentage at .642.

Sophomore shortstop Colin Case is tied for 51st in the country in hit by pitch with five while junior outfielder Joseph Connell is tied for 33rd with two triples at the plate. Junior second baseman Daniel Seitzinger is tied for 66th in sacrifice flies with two.

Freshman pitcher Anthony Zaloga is 30th in the country in hits allowed per nine innings at 4.64, and he is 51st in WHIP at 0.70.

Junior pitcher Robert Solano is 72nd in walks allowed at 1.27 per nine innings. Freshman first baseman/pitcher Charles Savite and junior pitcher Chris Soltys are tied for 94th in the nation with one save.

As a team, the Greyhounds are tenth in the nation in walks allowed per nine innings at 1.98, tied for 20th in triples with seven, 26th in strikeout-to-walk ratio at 2.96, tied for 38th in triples per gam3 at 0.5, tied for 21st with ten sacrifice flies and tied for 46th in doubles with 29.

Moravian, which is 8-6 on the season and 2-1 in Landmark Conference action, is slated to host Juniata College in a three-game Landmark Conference series at Gillespie Field this weekend with the doubleheader on Saturday, March 23rd beginning at 1:00 p.m.
