The Moravian College field hockey team defeated Cedar Crest College Thursday afternoon, 7-0 at Betty Prince field. Junior forward Briana Van Buskirk followed up her hat-trick from Tuesday with two goals in today's game.

The Greyhounds started scoring in the fourth minute when Van Buskirk netted her first goal off a pass from junior forward Tori Poliskiewicz. Senior midfielder Erica Cernobyl would cross a pass to freshman midfielder Catherine Duffin, pictured, who would tap it in to put Moravian up 2-0 nine minutes in.

Poliskiewicz would put the Greyhounds up 3-0 at the 20th minute off a rebound shot from freshman forward Erica Worthington. Duffin would net her second goal of the game when she took it in the box and blasted a shot past the goalie. Senior midfielder Selena Agnor would add another goal for Moravian off an assist from freshman forward Taylor Holly in the 33rd minute.

Holly would get into the scoring mix when she netted her second goal of the season off a pass from Cernobyl just two minutes into the second half. Holly would then set up Van Buskirk for her second goal of the game and eighth of the season in the 42nd minute.

Sophomore goalkeeper Andrea Eck and junior Catherine Gottlieb would work one half each and combine for the shutout. Gottlieb recorded two saves. This was Eck's eighth win of the season, tying her for second most in school history.

Falcons' goalie Lindsay Harrison tallied 20 saves in the match.

Moravian would outshoot Cedar Crest 43-7, and the Greyhounds held the penalty corner advantage, 25-3.

The Greyhounds return to action Saturday, October 22 when they travel to Landmark Conference foe Goucher College. The match is scheduled for 1 p.m.
