MADISON, NJ – Sophomore goalie Andrea Eck (Catasauqua, PA/Catasauqua) of the Moravian College field hockey team has been named the Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 19. This is the second time this season Eck has received the conference defensive player of the week award.
Last week, Eck went 2-0 with a 0.50 goals against average, including one shutout. In the two games, she made 12 saves, which was good for a .923 save percentage.
She has helped the Greyhounds to a 4-1 record, their best start since 1994. On the season, Eck is 4-1 with three shutouts. She has a 0.51 goals against average and has made 27 saves, good for a .920 save percentage. In 356 minutes, she has only allowed two goals.
Moravian returns to action tomorrow night in a non-conference match at Neumann University. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m.
