Sophomore midfielder/forward Chelsea Grotyohann scored her first goal of the season in the first half to help lead the Moravian College field hockey to its second straight shutout of the season, defeating Marywood University, 2-0, in non-conference action Saturday.
Grotyohann scored in the 32nd minute off of a pass from junior forward Tori Poliskiewicz to give the Greyhounds a 1-0 lead. Freshman midfielder Catherine Duffin pushed the lead to 2-0 with just under eight minutes left in the contest when she scored off of a pass from freshman midfielder Emily Marley on a penalty corner.
The Greyhounds had a 15-6 edge in shots in the game and a 10-4 advantage in penalty corners. Moravian sophomore goalie Andrea Eck posted her second straight shutout with one save, and sophomore midfielder/defender Erin Gilbert had a defensive save. Marywood goalie Erin Dawson stopped nine shots for the Pacers while Brianna Bacchetta had two defensive saves.
